Three Injured In Two-Alarm Fire in Ebbets Field

CROWN HEIGHTS – Three people were injured on Wednesday after a fire scorched an apartment in the Ebbets Field apartment complex.

New York City Fire Department responded to a call at 12:06 pm at 220 Montgomery St. Ebbets Field housing development, according to an FDNY spokesperson. Social media videos show smoke and a blaze coming from the terrace of a 12th-floor apartment facing McKeever Place.

“The smoke was coming so strong it was hard to breathe,” said Patricia Outlaw who lives at on the 18th floor of the building complex. Outlaw said she had couldn’t see the fire coming from her Bedford Avenue view but the smoke was so overpowering she and her grandson retreated to the back of her apartment and placed a wet towel at the doorway.

A spokesperson from the New York City Police Department reported three injured with one person transported to Kings County Hospital. There was no further information available at the time of this post.

FDNY confirmed the two-alarm fire was under control by 2:04 pm.
