Three Candidates In the CD45 Race Receive Matching Funds
EAST FLATBUSH/MIDWOOD — Three people in the race to fill the 45the council seat received matching funds on Thursday, as the 7-person race pushes on.
Candidates qualify for payments under the city’s matching funds program if they raise at least $5,000 in match-eligible, small dollar contributions, which means the first $175 from a NYC resident, and collect contributions of $10 or more from at least 75 city residents.
New York City Campaign Finance Board will cap matching funds $142,500.
All seven candidates chose option A under the city’s matching funds program which grants candidates $8 to $1 in matching claims.
The New York City Campaign Finance Board, after auditing all claims, granted three candidates matching funds based on contributions submitted up to April 9. They are as follows.
- Monique Chandler-Waterman – $135,375
- Farah Louis – $135,375
- Adina Sash – $69,411
The next filing deadline for campaign contributions is May 3 for funds received between April 9 and April 29. NYCCFB will distribute a second round of matching funds.
