Runners of all ages participated in the event, creating festive holiday sounds with jingle bells attached to their sneakers. More than $300,000 was raised from the adult race to support NYRR’s free, citywide, year-round youth running and fitness programs.

The approximately 1,000 youth runners who participated in Saturday’s event are part of Rising New York Road Runners, NYRR’s free flagship youth fitness program available in schools across New York City. Introduced earlier this year, Rising New York Road Runners inspires young runners and provides students with access to free fitness programming.
