Singalong With Debbie Deane
When: Wednesday, October 7, 11am
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue, Ditmas Park
What: The singer-songwriter — and Brooklyn mom — invites kids to sing with her at this weekly event.

Babies & Books
When: Thursday, October 8, 1:30pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue, Park Slope
What: Babies up to age 18 month and their caregivers will hear stories, sing songs, play with toys, and meet new friends.

Creative Writing
When: Friday, October 9, 2:45pm
Where: Cortelyou Library, 1305 Cortelyou Road, Ditmas Park
What: Kids between the ages of 7 and 11 can write and share their work with each other in a safe atmosphere of respect and acceptance.

Family Movies @ the Library: Hugo
When: Friday, October 9, 3:30pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: See this fun movie — about a boy’s quest to find a safe and loving place he can call home — based on the book by Brian Selznick, who will be discussing his new book on October 8 at Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope.

Story Time: David Weinstone
When: Saturday, October 10, 11am
Where: Greenlight Bookstore, 686 Fulton Street, Fort Greene
What: You might know him as the creator of the Music for Aardvarks program, and now you can join David Weinstone for a reading of his book Music Class Today!, a fun tale about a music class that will get kids (and parents) dancing and singing.

Art Workshops: Scrap Sculpture
When: Saturday, October 10, 11am
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Javaka Steptoe will lead kids in an experiment using things they might think of as trash — bottle caps, tinfoil, pocket lint, etc. — to create some fun collage art.

Sunday Story Time: Roman Milisic
When: Sunday, October 11, 11:30am
Where: PowerHouse on 8th, 1111 8th Avenue, South Slope
What: Come hang with the author of Apes A-Go-Go!, a story about a team of primates who’d like to clean up a town — but unfortunately, things get a bit hairy.

Story Play With First RIF
When: Tuesday, October 13, 11am
Where: Walt Whitman Library, 93 Saint Edwards Street, Fort Greene
What: Children from birth to age 5 will enjoy stories, sing songs, and have a chance to play with other kids.
