CENTRAL BROOKLYN

Music In The Grove: CoCreative Music
When: Wednesday, July 15, 10-11am
Where: Fort Greene Park, west of the tennis courts
What: Live music in the sun for the whole family! Expect rhythms to make the kids move from the engaging act CoCreative Music.
How much: Free!

FunikiJam Music World Tour
When: Thursday, July 16, 3:30pm
Where: Pacific Library, 25 4th Avenue, Park Slope
What: Come join Captain Jam and Funikijam on their Magical World Tour. This fun and musical show encourages children’s participation with award-winning exploration.
How much: Free!

Creatures Of The Night: Family Edition
When: Thursday, July 16, 7pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Explore Prospect Park after dark with expert Naturalist Paul Keim. Share snacks and beverages with Paul as he speaks about the ecological role that bats and nocturnal insects play in our environment, followed by a walking tour to spot and identify the Park’s various species of resident bats in flight.
How much: $10 per person or $30 for a family of four, register online.

Habana Outpost Kids Corner
When: Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19, 11am-3pm
Where: Habana Outpost, 757 Fulton Street, Fort Greene
What: Make cardboard robots from recycled toilet paper rolls. Recycling and Upcycling times two! The Kid’s Corner is a weekend program that offers free, creative workshops and crafts that teach environmentalism, wellness and community to neighborhood kids.
How much: Free!

Pop-Up Audubon: Macy’s Fishing Clinics
When: Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19, 12-6pm
Where: Peninsula, Prospect Park
What: This month, from 1-4pm kids under the age of 15 can learn to fish. From 4:30-6pm, learn how to use binoculars and go bird watching.
How much: Free!

Ezra Jack Keats Story Hour
When: Saturday, July 18, 2pm
Where: Imagination Playground, Prospect Park
What: Gather around Peter and Willy, the statue of two beloved Keats characters, for storytelling adventures brought to life by Tammy Hall. Sponsored by the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation.
How much: Free!

Luau At Lakeside
When: Saturday, July 18, 12pm
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Enjoy sunshine, splash pad, roller-skating, silent auction, hula dancers and a full luncheon at this fundraiser for Jonah’s Just Begun.
How much: $35-40

Toddler Tuesday
When: Tuesday, July 21, 9:30am
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Kids ages 2-5 (and their caregivers) will have a blast with instructor-led play and music activities, healthy snacks, and open roller skating time with skate rentals and helmets included.
How much: $15 per child, free admission for accompanying adult ($6 adult skate rental available).

SOUTHERN BROOKLYN

Mommy & Me

Where: St. Athanasius School, 6120 Bay Parkway, Bensonhurst
What: Mommy & Me classes held every Monday and Wednesday.

Movies At The Library: The Lego Movie
When: Wednesday, July 15, 2-4pm
Where: New Utrecht Library, 1743 86th Street, Bensonhurst
What: Everything is awesome at New Utrecht Library. Catch a screening of The Lego Movie at the branch.
How much: Free!

Get Up And Go
When: Thursday, July 16
Where: Calvert Vaux Park, Gravesend (10am) & Seth Low Park, Bensonhurst (12:30pm)
What: Sign up online for a time slot to participate in fitness activities including obstacle courses and relays.
How Much: Free!

Sweet Dream’s FlowerLand Workshop
When: Saturday, July 18, 3pm-4:30pm
Where: Sweet Dream, 94 Quentin Road, Bensonhurst
What: Sweet Dream Florist is hosting their weekly decorating workshop where kids can create fun, playful floral arrangements. Call for class details and to make advanced reservations.

Free Outdoor Screening Of E.T.
When: Saturday, July 18, 8:30pm
Where: Cortelyou Road & East 17th Street, Ditmas Park
What: The Flatbush Development Corporation is sponsoring a showing of “E.T.” Free popcorn will be provided by the Flatbush Food Co-op. Neighbors are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets for the flick.

18th Avenue Weekend Walks
When: Sunday, July 19, 1pm-7pm
Where: 18th Avenue, between 62nd Street and 75th Street, Bensonhurst
What: Merchants and restaurants along 18th Avenue will head to the sidewalk to showcase their goods. Details are still in the works, but activities will include kid-friendly games and performances.
How much: Free!

Coney Island Flicks On The Beach: The Goonies
When: Monday, July 20, 7:30pm
Where: Coney Island Boardwalk, 1001 Boardwalk West
What: Coney Island Flicks on the Beach continues with a screening of The Goonies Bring your blankets and enjoy the movie on a 40-foot inflatable screen on the beach.
How much: Free!

Sing-Along With Miss Katie
When: Tuesday, July 14, 11am
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue, Ditmas Park
What: Singing a mix of classic kid favorites and rare folk gems, Miss Katie is known for bringing the sing-along fun to Brooklyn families! As one parent put it, “Miss Katie knows how to connect with caregivers, parents and children to bring out the rhythm in all of us.”
How much: $10 per family.
