This Weekend’s Open House Picks
open house kitchen

We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Ditmas Park this Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?

385 Argyle Road #3J
List Price: $399,000
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: Situated just off Cortelyou Road, this one bedroom pre-war apartment has plenty going for it: hardwood floors, high ceilings, arched doorways, and original details – including a built-in bookshelf. The bedroom looks pretty spacious, as does the living area, though we’re not sure how great the natural light is going to be in the living room. The updated kitchen includes a dishwasher and a built-in microwave. Plus, being so close to Cortelyou means you can practically take one leap and land on all the shopping and dining there – and you’re close to the Q subway station on Cortelyou.
Open House: Sunday, September 21, 11:30am-1pm

275 Webster Avenue #2B
List Price: $435,000
Size: Two bedrooms, one bathroom
Details: This two bedroom in a post-war building has an open living/dining room with hardwood floors, a shared backyard, and an updated kitchen with what seem like some good counter space and a dishwasher. There’s a renovated bathroom with marble floors, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, and a decently sized second bedroom. If you have kids in elementary school, they’d be zoned for the well regarded PS 217. There’s also a live-in super, laundry, parking, and bike storage. You’d be super close to Milk and Honey and OxCart Tavern, as well as other dining and shopping on Cortelyou Road.
Open House: Sunday, September 21, 12-1:30pm.

34 Crooke Avenue, #4B
List Price: $599,000
Size: Two bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: This two-bedroom, 923 square feet, post-war apartment is located right near Prospect Park’s Parade Grounds, and just down the street from Prospect Park, has lots that we like: hardwood floors, high ceilings, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer. The master bedroom looks like it has lots of space (and there’s an en-suite bathroom), and the open modern kitchen has plenty of room to cook – plus it comes equipped with stainless steel appliances. In the building, there’s an elevator, a garage, a laundry room, a common roof deck, wi-fi – and pets are allowed. What do people think of the $599,000 price tag?
Open House: Sunday, September 21, 11am-12pm.

765 East 17th Street
List Price: $1,440,000
Size: Seven bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms
Details: This landmarked Victorian, built in 1899, is huge and, while it seems like it could need some updating, there’s a lot we like: restored period details (including stained glass windows), an original wood center staircase connecting all three floors, and a large wrap-around front porch with an entrance into the vestibule. There’s a formal dining room, an eat-in kitchen, a formal living room with a decorative fireplace, and a master bedroom that leads into another bedroom, and more. The third floor has three bedrooms plus a full bathroom and a second eat-in kitchen. There’s also an unfinished basement with a full bathroom and a laundry room, as well as a detached two-car garage. This property had previously been listed at $1.5 million – do you think it’ll sell at its current $1,440,000 price tag?
Open House: Sunday, September 21, 12-1:30pm
