This Weekend’s Open House Picks

This Weekend’s Open House Picks
Brooklyn Hearth open house

We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Ditmas Park this Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?

811 Cortelyou Road
List Price: $375,000
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: This pre-war Kensington co-op is adorable. There’s a foyer with vintage built-in shelving, an arched entry to the living room, and original hardwood floors. We’re liking the eat-in kitchen and the high ceilings, plus the building has a laundry room, storage units, bike storage, and a live-in super. We’re not sure if the living room is going to feel claustrophobic, with just the two windows, but it does seem to get a lot of light, at least from the photos, so let us know what it’s like if you check it out. If you did end up moving here, you’d be near all the restaurants and shopping on both Coney Island Avenue and Cortelyou Road.
Open House: Sunday, September 7, 2-3:30pm

415 Argyle Road, #7S
List Price: $399,000
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: So, the listing for this says it’s a one bedroom, four bathroom apartment. We’re gonna go with that’s…a mistake. Or this place is insane. But, according to the layout provided, it’s safe to say this is a one bedroom, one bathroom abode. Located close to Cortelyou Road (which means dining, shopping, the Q), this home includes a large living-dining space, a movable barn door, a bar, and more. There’s a small room attached to the bedroom, which could translate into work space, a baby room, or whatever your heart desires. We’re not so crazy about the mirrored entryway, but, hey, that’s just us.
Open House: Sunday, September 7, 12-1:30pm

1818 Newkirk Avenue, #4L
List Price: $525,000
Size: Two bedrooms, one bathroom
Details: This two-bedroom apartment on Newkirk is lovely – there’s a large open living room with built-in bookshelves; a dining (or work) space; a kitchen with stainless appliances, a dishwasher, and a microwave; a large master bedroom with two closets; hardwood floors; and a windowed bathroom. Outside, there’s a common patio area. Plus, you’d have a part-time doorman, laundry, and a parking garage (though there might be a waitlist). You’d be a short walk to the Q and B trains at Newkirk and not far from the shopping and dining on Cortelyou Road.
Open House: Sunday, September 7, 12-1:30pm

330 East 18th Street
List Price: $1,495,000
Size: Eight bedrooms, three bathrooms
Details: This double bay Victorian has plenty to drool over: a beautiful foyer with mahogany and leaded glass, an eat-in kitchen opening to a backyard, a master suite that spans the width of the house, more than 40 windows, a library, and tons more. You’d be two blocks from the Q train, restaurants, and shopping on Cortelyou and not far from Prospect Park. What do people think of the $1.495 million asking price?
Open House: Sunday, September 7, 2-4pm
