This Weekend’s Open House Picks
We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Ditmas Park this Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?
CONDOS & CO-OPS
207 Ocean Parkway #7B
List Price: $186,000, $337 maintenance
Size: Studio, 1 bathroom
Details: This 410 sq ft, top floor unit is in the rear of 207, meaning you won’t have to hear every single thing that happens on Ocean Parkway, and you’ll get some nice morning sun. You’ll have a dishwasher, three closets to help contain your clothes, hobby supplies, or sports gear, and while the kitchen is small, you could certainly push a long rectangular table against that wall next to the front door for more counter and dining space. There’s laundry on every floor, bike storage, and indoor parking (with a waiting list), and cats are allowed.
Open House: Sunday, February 23, 12-1:30pm
601 E 19th Street #6C
List Price: $255,900, $455 maintenance
Size: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Details: This unit has nice vintage details like built in shelving, arched entryways, and inlaid parquet floors, plus a sleek new kitchen and nice neutral bathroom. It looks like you’ve got sun on two sides, plus the building has two laundry rooms, bike storage, and is close to Newkirk Plaza for trains–or just for a delicious lunch.
Open House: Sunday, February 23, 1-3pm
353 Ocean Avenue #2J
List Price: $549,000, $464 common charges
Size: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
Details: This sunny unit will put you steps from Prospect Park, as well thisclose to the Parkside Q station–which will be helpful at least for the commute into the city, right? The large living room could be great for entertaining or simply for accommodating space for adults and kids, plus both bedrooms are of decent size, and the master has an en suite bath. The kitchen could use some cosmetic upgrades, but that nice big window is a good start, and the building has laundry facilities, storage, and a courtyard.
Open House: Sunday, February 23, 12-1pm
HOUSES
229 Stratford Road
List Price: $1,799,000
Size: 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
Details: Situated between Lewis Place and Matthews Court, this Victorian has a lot of space to offer, and looks like it’s had certain updates. We just wish we could get a look at the original floors, or maybe that the bathrooms (except that panda wall-papered one, hubba hubba) or kitchen cabinets were a little more modern. Our favorite thing we can see is that magnificent sunroom in the back, and if you’d prefer a house with carpet instead of wood flooring, this one might be your answer.
