This Weekend’s Open House Picks
We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Ditmas Park on Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?
CONDOS & CO-OPS
403 Avenue C, Apt 3C
List Price: $275,000, $675 maintenance
Size: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Details: This is one of those great, sunny 2 beds that’s about the price of most 1 beds we encounter. Exposed brick, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, in-building laundry, a cool kitchen sink if we may say so–and you’re right around the corner from a killer massage therapist, if you’re into that sort of thing. It could use some more counter space for sure, but you might be able to work something out in front of that window across from the fridge.
Open House: Sunday, September 8, 1-2:30pm
645 E 26th Street, Apt 5L
List Price: $329,000, $1,006 maintenance
Size: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Details: This co-op is just down the block from Brooklyn College and close to the 2/5 trains. There’s a large living space with a separate dining area, some flexible space off the kitchen, and a lot of closets–it just won’t work for someone who wants an en suite master bath. Dogs are allowed, though, and they’re not usually all that picky.
Open House: Sunday, September 8, 2:30-4pm
570 Ocean Parkway, Apt 5G
List Price: $399,000, $833 maintenance
Size: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Details: This unit has windows on no less than three sides, herringbone parquet floors, arched entryways, built-ins, and one pretty bathroom floor. The listing says it’s near the Ditmas Avenue F and “close to Q train at Courtyard,” which we can only hope is functioning in both directions during all that work on the Cortelyou stop. There’s a community bike room, pets are allowed on approval, and you can rent it out after two years if it there’s a change of plans.
Open House: Sunday, September 8, 1-3pm
HOUSES
853 Rugby Road
List Price: $512,000
Size: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Details: This semi-detached 1920 house needs to be brought into the 21st century, but it’s got some good bones, a great deck and yard, and a sweet reduced price. The listing says the owner wants to get out of town quick, so you might just get a first family home for less than you thought, then finish it exactly as you want it to be. Best case scenario, Stove Cat comes included.
Open House: Sunday, September 8, 1-3pm
