This Weekend’s Open House Picks

708 E 19th St, via Halstead

We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in Ditmas Park on Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?

CONDOS & CO-OPS

346 Coney Island Avenue, Apt 701
List Price: $925,000, $723 common charges, via Corcoran
Size: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
Details: Yeah you read that asking price right, and yep, this is a condo. I mean, it looks lovely, and being on a high floor means you’ve got views of Prospect Park (but also views of the construction projects on Caton Place), plus new-ish appliances and fixtures, and central air. But at 1,660-square-feet, wouldn’t you rather more bang for you buck in a house? Perhaps not, with the maintenance that comes with. The highest recorded sale in this building was last summer, apartment 401, a similar 3-bed, 2-bath on a lower floor that went for $865,000, $16k over ask. We’ll be watching to see what price this unit fetches, and how quickly.
Open House: Sunday, March 17, 12-1:30pm

800 Cortelyou Road, Apt 4N
List Price: $425,000, $792.79 maintenance, via Brooklyn Hearth
Size: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Details: Another space is now available in this dog-friendly building on the west side of Coney Island Avenue. At 1,100-square-feet, there’s enough room for you, your family, and that dog. The bathroom was recently renovated, but the kitchen not so much — it’s totally fine, and has a pantry, dishwasher, and space for a table, but could use some updating.
Open House: Sunday, March 17, 11:30am-1pm

34 Crooke Avenue, Apt 4C
List Price: $379,000, $309 common charges, via Citi Habitats
Size: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Details: Listed since October 2012 when it was priced at $399,000, will the $20k drop over five months help inspire potential buyers? It’s not big on space, just 646 square feet, but it does have a private balcony, so you get a touch of outdoor space, plus there are gym facilities in the building. Besides the amenities, what are the advantages to buying into what might be the nicest (newest, anyway) place on the block?
Open House: Sunday, March 17, 11am-1pm

221 East 18th Street, Apt 2C
List Price: $219,000, $565 maintenance, via owner
Size: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Details: Pretty standard apartment, with built-in bookshelves which you’ll either love or want to take out immediately. The kitchen and bathroom need updating, but you could certainly live with them until you get the chance to do so. Looks like some agent was listing this previously, judging by the nicer pics seen here (possibly Corcoran, who listed it this time last year).
Open House: Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17, by appointment

HOUSES

708 East 19th Street
List Price: $1,459,000, via Halstead
Size: 5 bedrooms, 2 full and 3 partial bathrooms
Details: With three floors and a finished basement that add up to about 4,400 square feet, this house (pictured above) is huge. The first floor currently includes a therapist’s office, so it’s ready for someone who might want an office of some kind in there. Everything has been updated recently, including the inner workings and the roof, so you can pretty much just move right in, and then enjoy crepes nearby.
Open House: Sunday, March 17, 1-3pm
