This Weekend’s Open House Picks

Here’s the weekly roundup of open houses around the neighborhood. What do you think? Don’t forget to check out recent neighborhood open house listings to get a complete feel for local real estate.

CO-OPS & CONDOS

385 East 18th Street  #5A (pictured above) is on sale for $595,000. At 1,350 square feet, it’s a bit smaller than the apartment listed below but the realtor is stressing its expansive size nevertheless. The prewar apartment has seven closets, three exposures (eleven windows) and an open layout.
Open house: Sunday, October 14, 2-4pm

10 Slocum Place #4F is still on the market for $649,000. It’s 1,529 square feet with three bedrooms and 2.5 bedrooms. The building has a garage, fitness center, a pharmacy and, interestingly enough, a sleep center on the second floor — so, if you have worries about the considerable noise from Coney Island, that is something to consider. I found the building above the first floor to be very quiet in a recent visit.
Open house: Sunday, October 14, 12-1pm

•  400 East 17th Street #500 comes in at $259,000. At 680 square feet, it’s considerably smaller than the previous listings, but also considerably cheaper. It’s in a great spot right next to the Cortelyou Road station and offers new windows, a new kitchen and a new “spa-like” bathroom.
Open house: Sunday, October 14, 2:30-3:30pm

HOUSES

394 East 8th St remains on the market at $799,999. The interior is warm and while the exterior pictures that the realtors provide are iffy at best, Google Maps Street View looks better (pictured above) with more flattering shots of the house.
Open house: Saturday, October 13, 2:30-3:30pm or on weekedays by appointment only
