This Weekend’s Open House Picks

Quite a few places are showing off their stuff this weekend in open houses around the neighborhood. What do you think?

HOUSES

• The house at 395 E 8th St (pictured above) is on the market for $875,000. The 5-bedroom, 2-bath house sports a decent looking porch in the front and apparently a much larger porch around back, as described by Aguayo & Huebener Realty Group. Still, that’s over $100k more than the renovated house that was for sale over on E 7th, which after about a month and a half now has a contract pending. Worth it for an extra bedroom and bath? Hard to say, since there are no pics of the inside of this one.

• Another one without interior pictures is the single-family, semi-detached house at 380 Webster Avenue. Listed by Weichert for $729,000, it’s got 4 bedrooms and 2 baths with 1,530 square feet, though the part of the house that’s not attached sidles up to a car lot.

CO-OPS

• Located near the corner of Rugby and Cortelyou, 390 Rugby Road #5F has been on the market for over half a year. The 50 year-old co-op is listed at $225,000, offering one bedroom and bathroom and, let’s face it, quite the location at the heart of Cortelyou Road, as listed by Corcoran, maintenance $585.
Open house: Sunday, August 26, 12-1pm

Apartment #3C at 759 E 10th St has been on the market for a month and a half now. Priced at $224,900, that’s just about $200/square-foot as the apartment is 1,125 square feet, with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. Listed by B&R Integrity R.E., maintenance not mentioned.
Open house: Sunday, August 26, 12-3pm

• The co-op at 515 East 7th #3V is currently available for $209,00–another apartment in the building that we looked at back in June is still available. The price for this 1-bed and 1-bath is $20k less that the other apt, yet has 50 more square feet. Listed by AmeriHomes Realty, with no maintenance mentioned, though to give you an idea, the other apt’s would be $671.

• The 1-bed, 1-bath co-op at 399 Ocean Parkway, #2D has been on the market for three months and recently dropped its price by 5% to $160,000, with a maintenance of $485. The apartment is on the small side, listed at 650 square feet divided into three rooms, by Abacus Properties.
