This Weekend’s Kensington-Windsor Terrace Open House Picks

We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in Kensington and Windsor Terrace this weekend. Any thoughts on these places?

47 Reeve Place #2
List Price: $321,000, $405 maintenance
Size: Studio, one bathroom
Details: This place may be what realtors call “cozy,” but boy is it endearing. Parquet floors, gorgeous mouldings, and original radiators make it truly — not just euphemistically — charming; and while it could stand some cosmetic updates in the kitchen and bathroom, it does hold the title of the by far least expensive open house-hosting Windsor Terrace apartment we saw this week. It’s on the first floor — which could be a good thing, considering the building’s a walkup — and is located near Prospect Park, fun stuff on Prospect Avenue, and the F/G at Fort Hamilton Parkway.
Open House: Sunday, March 1, 12-2pm

303 Beverley Road #8J
List Price: $495,000, $647 maintenance
Size: Two bedrooms, one bathroom
Details: Now, this unit offers a bit more room! There’s a really nice open kitchen/dining/living area here, beautifully renovated with slate tile and a dishwasher, as well as two spacious bedrooms and a walk-in closet that’s reportedly big enough to use as office space. The building offers a doorman, bike and other storage, laundry facilities, (waitlisted) parking, and a healthy love — or at least acceptance — of cats; plus between E 4th and E 5th Streets, you’ll be near all sorts of convenient and yummy stuff on Church Avenue.
Open House: Sunday, March 1, 1-3pm

64 Terrace Place
List Price: $1,338,000
Size: Three bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms
Details: Oof, this semidetached house between 19th and 20th Streets is a pretty one. Great floors, untouched mouldings around the windows, an arched ceiling over the bathtub… it’s easy to fall in love with the clearly vintage details here as well as somewhat modernized spots like the kitchen, where butcher block counter tops and (apparently old but somehow refreshing) terracotta-y tiles offer a nice reprieve from the ubiquitous stainless and granite of most listings. Also not original but welcome are non-cosmetic upgrades including a new water heater and boiler as well as wiring, and we can’t deny that finished basement, that terrace, that garage, or that yard.
Open House: Sunday, March 1, 12-2pm

535 18th Street
List Price: $1,399,000
Size: Four bedrooms, three bathrooms over two units
Details: For some reason the map shown in this listing is all wonky, but don’t be fooled; Google confirms the house is actually between Prospect Park West and 10th Avenue. Photos show a clean space with fresh wood floors, an updated kitchen, a sleek glass shower and classic penny tile in the bathroom, a (working?!) fireplace, and a yard with a deck.
Open House: Sunday, March 1, 2-3pm
