Tomorrow’s Cortelyou Greenmarket will feature delicious cold weather produce including celeriac, sunchokes, and purple top turnips. Tips and info will be given out on these under-appreciated veggies, out of which manager Tali Biale will be making a special soup. “If you don’t know these fall vegetables,” she says, “then you are missing out on some special seasonal delights!”

Tali is also asking for your favorite Thanksgiving recipes to compile into a neighborhood recipe collection. Fill out a card at the market or email your recipe to tbiale@grownyc.org by the morning of Tuesday, November 19, and Tali will distribute a collaborative cookbook at the Greenmarket before Thanksgiving.

And of course, you can:

• Bring food scraps to be composted from 8am-1pm.

• Drop off textiles to be recycled from 8am-2pm.

• Plus, the Health Bucks program is on: For every $5 of your EBT you spend, you get a free $2 coupon for fruits and vegetables. Stop by the info tent to learn more.

The Cortelyou Greenmarket runs year-round on Sundays, 8am to 3pm, on Cortelyou Road between Argyle and Rugby Roads. For more info, find the Greenmarket on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
