This Thursday, See Methodist Expansion Presentation At CB6 Meeting At John Jay

New York Methodist Hospital will make a presentation about its application for land use variances to construct a new building at a public hearing of the Landmarks/Land Use Committee of Community Board 6 on Thursday, November 21 at 6pm in the auditorium of the John Jay Educational Campus, 237 7th Avenue.

CB6 will discuss and formulate a recommendation on the application, which was submitted because modifications of certain zoning resolutions are required. You can see a breakdown of what the project would entail here, and you can see the Board of Standards and Appeals application here.

“The current plans for NYM’s Center for Community Health are largely the result of months of direct input from Park Slope residents,” Lyn Hill, vice president for communication and external affairs at NYM, said in a statement. “We look forward to the November 21 public hearing, and encourage all community members who wish to hear more about the project, and make their voices heard, to attend.”

So if you’re one of the 400-plus people who have signed Preserve Park Slope’s petition against the expansion, here’s a good opportunity to get out and let them know why you signed it. Also, feel free to continue providing suggestions and input for the facility by emailing build@nym.org, and to send a copy of any comments you submit to districtmanager@brooklyncb6.org so that the Community Board may consider them as part of its review tomorrow as well.
