This Saturday, Help Longtime Sean Casey Ally Dr. Danny Gray Beat Follicular Lymphoma

Have you adopted a pet from Sean Casey Animal Rescue? Your life may have already been touched by Dr. Danny Gray of the Veterinary Emergency Referral Group (VERG), who has helped many of SCAR’s animals in need–but now Dr. Gray needs your help. His Follicular Lymphoma has returned since undergoing chemotherapy last year, and his physicians are hoping a bone marrow transplant will save his life.

From 9am-3pm this Saturday, October 12, VERG and Brooklyn Bark are teaming up to test potential marrow donors at Monument Plaza (under the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument) in Fort Greene Park. Your cheek will be quickly and painlessly swabbed to see if you’re a match for Dr. Gray, and Brooklyn Bark is even offering free dog treats and other goodies to all pets’ humans who attend.

If you’re not able to attend on Saturday but meet the eligibility requirements to be a donor, you can order a free volunteer donor kit from DeleteBloodCancer.org and send in your swab. And even if you’re not able to volunteer or donate marrow, please help spread the word!
