Target First Saturday

Where: Brooklyn Museum at 200 Eastern Parkway
What: Free admission all day for gallery tours, a trunk show, live music, a Puerto Rican American cookbook signing, hands-on art workshops, curator talks, poetry reading, film screening, book club meeting, kids corner activities, and artist talks.

BAMCafe Live: Tammy Scheffer Sextet
When: Saturday, November 7 at 9pm
Where: Peter Jay Sharp Building at 30 Lafayette Avenue
What: Tammy Scheffer’s crystalline voice draws listeners into her thrillingly imaginative jazz experiments. Backed by a virtuoso five-piece ensemble, the Belgian-Israeli vocalist and composer incorporates scat-like improvisation, languid rhythms reminiscent of bossa nova, Middle Eastern influences, and an atmospheric use of loop pedals. The result is forward-thinking jazz full of ever-shifting textures and moods.

Wine Tasting
When: Sunday, November 8 from 5-8pm
Where: Gnarly Vines at 350 Myrtle Avenue
What: Free tasting of St. Agrestis Amaro, made in Brooklyn. Amaro was originally used as medicine to ease digestion. Now it’s a cocktail base and after-dinner drink with cinnamon, nutmeg, and preserved rhubarb that will bring you back to the soda fountain with a dark cola taste, vanilla extract, sweet tree bark, and powerful spearmint. 15% off wines and 10% off spirits featured at the tasting!

What: Bring a picture and your written short caption/short story that tells the story of your Clinton Hill neighborhood. It can be a picture of a person or persons, a place, a thing, a picturesque memory. All photographic short stories/captions & pictures will be displayed in the Clinton Hill Library for you and your neighbors to see for the month of September 2015.
