Lunchtime Yoga and Music
When: Friday, July 24 from 1-2pm
Where: BRIC Gallery at 647 Fulton Street
What: Join us on Fridays from July 10-August 7 for FREE lunchtime yoga and music, co-presented by Bend + Bloom Yoga and featuring a different intructor and musical accompaniment each week! Yoga is Vinyasa Flow. These are mixed-level classes for beginners to advanced practitioners, but some basic experience with yoga is suggested. Class is for adults and teens only – no children or babies please. **Bring your own yoga mat.**
Free Beats With DJ Dhundee

What: Enjoy free admission and skate to the hottest hits spun by Lakeside’s resident maestro, DJ Dhundee. Fridays in July from 4:00pm – 6:30pm. Skate rentals available for $6 +tax. Open to all ages
Flavorpill’s Magic Hour at Lakeside

Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park at 171 East Drive
What: A new monthly party held at the ice rink, celebrating “all the feel-good vibes you remember from the roller-skating parties of your youth — but with a fresh 21st-century update, cocktails, and some serious musical talent.” On-site bonuses include easy access to the splash pad water feature, pedal boat and bike rentals, plus the Bluestone Cafe, Vista, and Gelato Parlor.

Free Movie: “Back To The Future, Part II”

What: Last month’s free summer screening of Big Hero 6 was a huge success, and the big screen will return to Fort Greene Park Friday night for the ‘80s classic Back to the Future Part II. Bring a blanket, snacks, and friends — Parks and Fort Greene Park Conservancy staff will be offering free lemonade to movie-goers, so don’t forget to stop by and say hello.

MR@BRIC Family Day

Where: BRIC House Gallery at 647 Fulton Street
What: Join dance artists Ilona Bito and Donna Costello for a day of family friendly movement workshops at BRIC in partnership with Movement Research. In each session, we will invite our bodies to twist and turn, bounce and slide, rise and fall, to ride the wave of dance. Using inspiration from the art and architecture in the BRIC gallery, we will tap into the imaginative expression each young person brings by exploring, investigating and creating in dance. Come activate the space with us as we engage our senses with music, imagery and movement at BRIC! 2-3pm – First session geared towards 3-6 year olds and led by Ilona Bito; 3-4pm – Second session geared towards 7-10 year olds and led by Donna Costello. Participants are encouraged to wear sneakers and families are encouraged to join in the fun.
Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival

What: Neighborhood legend Eric Frazier has brought this amazing event to Fort Greene park for six years now, and if June’s Kick-Off event was any indication, we’re in for another spectacular summer of music. The next Jazz Fest will be held on September 12.
B-Scene: Art N Media

Where: The Bishop Gallery at 916 Bedford Avenue
What: A free film and TV viewing series that aims to amplify the voices of Brooklyn Free Speech producers at local hotspots throughout the borough. In B Scene: ART -N- Media, our friends at The Bishop Gallery help us celebrate the diverse and exciting content being produced by aspiring artists in TV and film at Brooklyn Free Speech. On this special evening we will view and discuss video art that bridges the gap between art and the mediums of film and television.

“TOBIN EASON – Passion in Motion” Exhibit
When: Through August 13
Where: Gallery Three at South Oxford Space, at 138 South Oxford Street, 3rd Floor
What: The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) is pleased to present an exhibit of nine works on canvas by Tobin Eason. Eason’s paintings are influenced by the dance performing arts scene in NYC. They depict the wide and varied emotions performing artists must portray when performing for an audience. Each work is a reflection of not only the dancer’s beauty aesthetically, but even more importantly, the required expression and passion to achieve artistic excellence. Many of the dancers featured in each painting are established professionals in premier ballet companies in the city, such as American Ballet Theatre and the New York City Ballet.
How much: FREE; Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from10am to 4pm. Additional viewing hours are easily arranged by calling 718-398-3078.
