Lunchtime Yoga and Music
When: Friday, July 17 from 1-2pm
Where: BRIC Gallery at 647 Fulton Street
What: Join us on Fridays from July 10-August 7 for FREE lunchtime yoga and music, co-presented by Bend + Bloom Yoga and featuring a different intructor and musical accompaniment each week! Yoga is Vinyasa Flow. These are mixed-level classes for beginners to advanced practitioners, but some basic experience with yoga is suggested. Class is for adults and teens only – no children or babies please. **Bring your own yoga mat.**

Shape Up!: Stretching (Essentrics)
When: Saturday, July 18 at 10am
Where: Clinton Hill Library at 380 Washington Avenue
What: Our popular NYC Parks Department “Shape Up! program returns with a new local volunteer instructor and an emphasis on stretching (Essentrics). Class begins at 10 AM and ends at 11 AM. No registration is needed.

Photography Workshop: “Politics, Portraiture, and Identity”
When: Saturday, July 18 at 2pm
Where: Brooklyn Museum at 200 Eastern Parkway
What: A two-part photography workshop, taking place July 18 and 25, focusing on self-representation and personal narrative. Participants explore the exhibition Zanele Muholi: Isibonelo/Evidence, where the artist uses photography and testimonials to create visibility for black lesbian and transgender communities in South Africa. In the spirit of Muholi’s work, Sherley Olopherne, photographer, archivist, and curator of the Black Lesbian DIY Fest, leads this workshop. Learn the basics of portrait photography and compile your photos and testimonials as a storytelling tool.
How much: $35 includes materials, museum admission and refreshments. Maximum 20 participants. Advance ticket purchase is available online.

Orienteering and Compasses
When: Sunday, July 19 from 1-3pm
Where: Fort Greene Park Visitor Center
What: Urban Park Ranger Chris Wood will teach the basics of using an orienteering compass and challenge you to navigate through the park while exploring the park’s rich history. For all hiking programs we recommend wearing comfortable shoes or boots, and packing water and a light snack.

TOBIN EASON – Passion in Motion” Exhibit
When: Through August 13
Where: Gallery Three at South Oxford Space, at 138 South Oxford Street, 3rd Floor
What: The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) is pleased to present an exhibit of nine works on canvas by Tobin Eason. Eason’s paintings are influenced by the dance performing arts scene in NYC. They depict the wide and varied emotions performing artists must portray when performing for an audience. Each work is a reflection of not only the dancer’s beauty aesthetically, but even more importantly, the required expression and passion to achieve artistic excellence. Many of the dancers featured in each painting are established professionals in premier ballet companies in the city, such as American Ballet Theatre and the New York City Ballet.
How much: FREE; Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from10am to 4pm. Additional viewing hours are easily arranged by calling 718-398-3078.
