Greene Hill Food Co-op Holiday Open House

Where: Greene Hill Food Co-op at 18 Putnam Avenue
What: The co-op’s open house marks its fourth anniversary by welcoming the public into the store to shop and learn more about Greene Hill’s affordable local, seasonal produce and groceries. There will be cooking demonstrations, sharing inspiring recipe ideas, and sampling a variety of products. The store also will be collecting nonperishable food donations for our Holiday Food Drive, benefitting a local food bank.

Popup Art Shack

What: Popup art shack!The popular afterschool art studio and Brooklyn Flea vendor, ArtShack Brooklyn, will be hosting two popup holiday shops, on December 12th and 19th in Clinton Hill, where they will be selling delicate porcelain gift items conceived and designed by students in their apprenticeship program. All proceeds go toward funding their scholarship program, which currently provides free art classes to 25% of their students.

Caribbean Holiday House Party

What: BRIC continues its series of House Parties, with special daytime activities, including family dance classes, gaming, art making, and other participatory activities; plus a special BIG event! Mark your calendars and bring the whole family.

Funkijam Holiday Beat Family Festival

What: Captain Jam comes to the rescue as Bongo wants to throw a holiday party that all his friends can enjoy. Captain Jam takes Bongo and all the “junior agents” on a rocking trip around the world to learn about different cultures and how they celebrate. This is one all-new, high-energy interactive musical where kids become the stars of the show.
BAMCafe Live: The GrooveBarbers Acapella Holiday Concert
When: Saturday, December 12 at 9:30pm
Where: Peter Jay Sharp Building at 30 Lafayette Avenue
What: This powerhouse vocal quartet—featuring members of the pioneering contemporary a capella ensemble Rockapella—brings the holiday cheer to BAMcafé with its soulful, rock- and jazz-influenced take on barbershop. There will be no instruments in sight as seasonal classics get the doo-wop treatment in this special yuletide concert, featuring a guest appearance by operatic soprano Inna Dukach.

Bethel Sports Club’s Free Exercise Class

Christmas Concert

What: Bring a picture and your written short caption/short story that tells the story of your Clinton Hill neighborhood. It can be a picture of a person or persons, a place, a thing, a picturesque memory. All photographic short stories/captions & pictures will be displayed in the Clinton Hill Library for you and your neighbors to see for the month of September 2015.
