Comic Book Illustration Workshop
What: Tuesday, December 29 from 2:30-3:30pm
Where: Bedford Library at 496 Franklin Avenue
What: Want to learn how to draw for Comic Books? Then check out this workshop with Mark Ziemann, who teaches art in San Francisco and is the creator of the comic strip Motorhead.  Mr. Ziemann will show you how to give life and motion to ideas and characters so you can create illustrations of your own!

What: School is out, so come to the library and see how many cool LEGO creations you and your friends can build in an hour!

Movement Class For Older Adults
When: Thursdays from 11am-12pm
Where: Ingersoll Community Center at 177 Myrtle Avenue
What: Led by Mark Morris Dance Center faculty. Explore movement and music in a creative and fun way. Designed to use gentle movement to explore and increase range of motion for older adults.

Fireworks In Prospect Park
When: Thursday, December 31, 11pm/fireworks at midnight
Where: Grand Army Plaza
What: If you’re sticking close to home this New Year’s Eve, Prospect Park is the place to be as the clock inches toward 2016. Starting at 11pm, there will be music and hot chocolate, but the real show starts at midnight, when the sky will come alive with one of the city’s best fireworks displays. Set up camp anywhere from 9th Street to Grand Army on Prospect Park West, or inside the park along West Drive to see the show.

Storytime: Winter Wonderland

Where: Greenlight Bookstore, 686 Fulton Street
What: Read snowdrifts of picture books together, including Ezra Jack Keats’ classic A Snowy Day, Uri Shulavitz’s city story Snow, and Over and Under the Snow illustrated by our neighbor Christopher Silas Neal, and more. And after the readings, we’ll make a special snowflake craft together! Ages 3 to 8.

What: Enjoy a day full of free programming at the museum. Live music, gallery tours, an interactive art-making and letter-writing playspace, pop-up poetry performance, community talk about police reform, and film screenings. Arrive early, as some events have limited seating.
