What: Ken Olshansky is a television writer and producer with a broad range of comedy, family, and animated programming credits. Currently a supervising producer at CNN, Ken has worked at Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and at media companies including Granada, Scholastic Entertainment, and Sony Wonder.

Playing On Air: Three Short Plays
When: Monday, December 7 at 7:30pm
Where: BRIC House Ballroom at 647 Fulton Street
What: Experience an electric evening of three short plays — “The Wonderful Thanksgiving Violet,” “2 Dads,” and “The Press Conference” — as they are being recorded live for public radio broadcast and podcast, which are available at playingonair.org! Playing on Air presents contemporary 10- and 20-minute plays, written and performed by dynamic, award-winning playwrights and actors.  An interactive Q&A with the actors and playwrights follows each play.
How Much: $15 in advance, $20 at the door

What: Join us for a dynamic discussion that seeks to create real dialogue about the issue of negative stereotypes of Black women in media.  Panelists will deconstruct stereotypes like the Angry Black Woman, Gold Diggers, Baby Mamas and Sexy Vixens and encourage the audience to think critically about media consumption and to commit to redefining the existing media narrative.

We may think of climate change as a problem for scientists to solve and world leaders to enforce, but it’s herenow, already affecting us all–especially struggling families.
