Chinese Calligraphy Workshop

What: Practice with a Chinese calligraphy brush to learn how to write simple Chinese characters.

After School Stories

Workshop: Theatre of the Oppressed Sunset Park Troupe

What: Join neighbors in this interactive, free theatre workshop to discuss and work through social issues for several weeks before putting on a play in June.

Story Play with Reading Is Fundamental, For Ages 0-5

What: Enjoy books, songs, and playtime. For ages 0-5 years old. Reading is Fundamental (RIF) is included.

Paint Nite at the Irish Haven
Where: Irish Haven at 5721 Fourth Avenue (at 58th Street)

What: Have fun painting with neighbors! No experience required! Just follow along while our Social Painting Instructor guides you step-by-step through the featured painting in about two hours. If you’re feeling creative, change the colors to suit your décor or go completely rogue. We provide all the painting supplies: a 16”x20” canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, smock, music, and a good time.

SPRIG is the Sunset Park Revitalization and Improvement Group. Through engagement, stewardship, and action, our mission is to make our park clean, safe, fun, and beautiful, so that all can better enjoy the best view in Brooklyn. Our vision is not limited to the park’s playground and we advocate for the needs of the entire park.  We invite all to join despite our busy lives.  By giving even a little time we can celebrate and improve the park that makes our neighborhood so special.

Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Navigator Assistance

What: Obtain information about qualified health insurance plans, check requirements for subsidies and government insurance programs, and get enrollment assistance from trained and certified navigators. All sessions are by appointment only.

Resume Help in English and Chinese

What: A trained volunteer will help job hunters to create or improve their résumé. Assistance is offered in English or Chinese.

ArchForKids Presents: Build With Me

Free Chamber Music For All Ages
