Coney Island Hospital Farmers Market
When: Friday, June 26, 8am – 4pm
Where: 2601 Ocean Parkway, between Avenue Z and Shore Parkway
What: The Ocean Parkway Farmers Market in front of Coney Island Hospital returns to the streets, offering fresh produce, baked goods, and other treats made or grown at local farms. The market will be open every Wednesday and Friday (except July 3), between 8am and 4pm, until November 25.

Family Fun Day & Movie Night At Bensonhurst Park
When: Saturday, June 27, 4pm – 8pm
Where: Bensonhurst Park, Cropsey Avenue and Bay Parkway
What: Councilman Vincent Gentile and NIA are hosting an afternoon of kid-friendly activities this weekend, including games, prizes, raffles, refreshments, free ice cream for the first 500 guests, face-painting, NYPD rock wall, and an FDNY smokehouse. Field games will be provided by the Parks Department and a DJ will bring the tunes. At 8pm, families are invited to set up blankets and chairs for a free screening of The Lego Movie.

Friends Book Sale & Flea Market

Where: Sheepshead Bay Library, 2636 East 14th Street
What: Start your spring cleaning early and donate all of your unwanted items to the Friends of Sheepshead Bay Library group! They are accepting useable household items, clothing, books, toys, jewelry, toys, decorative arts & crafts, and more. All profits go towards the Sheepshead Bay Library. The book sale includes a large selection of fiction and non-fiction books, books for children, books for young adults, DVDs, CDs and other media, ranging in price from $1 to $3.

110th Annual 13th Avenue Independence Day Parade
When: Saturday, June 27, 11:15am
Where: 13th Avenue and , 2636 East 14th Street
What: The Independence Day parade, sponsored by The Knights of Columbus, will starts at 13th Avenue and 71 Street. It will continue along 13th Avenue and end at 86th Street, in the parking lot of Archbishop John Hughes Council 481. There, all parade goers will receive hotdogs and water, and will be treated to a performance by a USO Show Troupe and The Brooklyn Dance Centers.

School’s Out Bash & Concert at Luna Park

What: School’s out and it’s time for fun! Come to Luna Park for the biggest School’s Out party in Brooklyn. Luna Park has partnered with 92.3 AMP Radio to provide a FREE emerging artist concert with Jake Miller. The YMCA will provide free face painting and a quick Zumba class, followed by a few special performances. Shoboy and Nina from mornings will be on-site along with AMP’s weeknight host & Coney Island’s own DJ Toro, spinning the latest hits from 5pm-7pm. Bring your report cards for a chance to receive up 20 FREE ride credits for you good grades!

Midwood Mardi Gras Street Fair

Where: Avenue M, East 13th Street to Ocean Avenue
What: Midwood Development Corp. is pleased to present the 38th Annual Mardi Gras. The annual event — a local favorite for decades — will include face painting, pony rides, a magic show, live music, and the return of “Challenge the Chess Master.”

Board The Nostalgia Train At Brighton Beach

Where: Brighton Beach Q station, 1600 Avenue L
What: To celebrate the milestone of New York City’s second oldest subway company, the MTA bringing rides on the famed nostalgia train to the Brighton Beach Q station this weekend. The MTA is also planning family-friendly centennial-related activities at the station, and there will be a “first-of-its-kind” New York Transit Museum pop-up shop on the platform.
