Public Forum on Mayor’s Zoning For Quality & Affordability

What: All communities in southern Brooklyn, from Manhattan Beach to Bay Ridge are invited to this public meeting hosted by the Dyker Heights Civic Association, and cosposored by the Brooklyn Housing Preservation Alliance, Manhattan Beach Community Group, Marine Park Homecrest Civic Association and the Bay Ridge Conservancy. Attendees will have the change to ask questions and learn more about the mayor’s controversial plan.

Italian Musical Heritage Concert at New Utrecht Reformed Church

Where: New Utrecht Reformed Church, 8202 13th Avenue
What: Diana Marie Paunetto will be joined by special guests Brandon Thomas, Michela Cristina, Giulia Nicole and others for an evening of Italian music. They are the next generation of community performers who proudly embrace their culture through song with such favorites as O Mio Babbino Caro, Volare, Mille Bolle Blu and others.

Where: Coney Island USA Shooting Gallery/Arts Annex, 1214 Surf Avenue
What: The Coney Island Museum presents a cross section of Coney inspired works – paintings, watercolors, photographs and drawings – done between 2008 and 2015 by over 75 artists, hailing from Australia to the West End of Coney Island, presented on the home turf where their inspiration began.

On Stage at Kinsborough: The Pianist of Willesden

Where: KCC, 2001 Oriental Blvd
What: Set in Vienna in 1938 and in London during The Blitz, The Pianist of Willesden Lane tells the true story of Lisa Jura, a young Jewish pianist whose dreams are interrupted by the Nazi regime. In this moving and powerful play, virtuoso Mona Golabek performs some of the world’s most beautiful piano music as she shares her mother’s riveting story of survival, hope and the life-affirming power of music. There will be a post-performance book signing with Ms. Golabek.
