Memorial Day and Fleet Week is upon us, so if you plan to stick around for the long weekend, we have a great three days lined up for you — without ever leaving this side of the borough! Marines, who will be out and about all weekend long, will visit select libraries and read stories to the little people in our lives. For older folks, there will be a senior activity day at the New York Aquarium and an opera performance by the Dyker Heights-based Regina Opera. If you are Jewish and celebrate the dairy-oriented holiday of Shavuot, take part in an ice cream fest at Congregation Israel of Kings Bay.

Details on those events and more below.
