Lots to do in southern Brooklyn this week. Check out some of the free outdoor concerts going on in the area. There are also Cyclones games, a cleanup in Marine Park, karaoke on the Boardwalk and a pet adoption.

Free Summer Concert: Head Over Heels

What: Boogie in the park when the classic rock and dance band Head Over Heels takes over Shore Road Park for the first show in Senator Marty Golden’s free summer concert series.

Marine Park Mugwort Pull
When: Thursday, July 7, 9am – 1pm
Where: Marine Park Salt Marsh Nature Center, East 33rd Street and Avenue U
What: Volunteer to help protect young trees that were planted as part of MillionTreesNYC. Volunteers will help to pull and cut Mugwort, which threatens the otherwise healthy forest. Come dressed in sturdy boots, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty.
