Things To Do In Southern Brooklyn: Flower Sale, Talent Show, Seining Lessons

Lots to do in southern Brooklyn this week. If you need to pick up some Mother’s Day flowers, considering stopping by the Gerritsen Beach Library this week. There’s also registration for a talent show in Coney Island, seining lessons on Marine Park, and meeting with city officials to discuss the new traffic plan in Sheepshead Bay.

Coney Island Talent Show Sign-Up
When: Daily, 10am – 6pm
Where: Coney Island Library, 1901 Mermaid Avenue (Near West 19th Street)
What: The Coney Island Library, with support from City Councilman Mark Treyger, is hosting their first talent show. All types of performers are invited to participate, though the show is only open to ages 12 to 17. The last day to register is Friday, May 5.

Gerritsen Beach Spring Flower Sale
When: Tuesday, May 3, 1 – 8pm
Where: Gerritsen Beach Library, 2808 Gerritsen Avenue (Near Bartlett Place)
What: Mother’s Day is coming soon. Purchase flowers to show your love to the woman who loves you most. All proceeds are donated to the Gerritsen Beach Library.

Where: The Waterford on the Bay, 2900 Bragg Street (Near Emmons Avenue)
What: Representatives from the MTA and DOT will be feilding questions about the new traffic recongiguration on Sheepshead Bay Road. Come share your concerns about the project.

Film Festival: Network
When: Wednesday, May 4, 2:30 – 5:30pm
Where: Gerritsen Beach Library, 2808 Gerritsen Avenue (Near Bartlett Place)
What: After a screening of Network, a movie about a strugglinh television station in the 1970s, there will be discussion about the film with other movie buffs.
