Cops & Youths Basketball Game
When: Thursday, October 15, 6pm
Where: Kingsborough Community College, 2001 Oriental Boulevard
What: Assemblywoman Roxanne Persaud is bringing the precincts and community together for one night to play ball. Officers NYPD’s 61rst Precinct will play against the teens to raise attention for breast cancer.

Madison-Marine-Homecrest Civic Association Meeting
When: Thursday, October 15, starting at 7:30pm
Where: Carmine Carro Community Center, Fillmore Avenue, between Madison Place & Marine Pkwy.
What: The meeting will feature a panel discussion titled, “Citizens: try creating a level playing field…before the field is purchased.”  The panelists are Adam Forman, senior researcher, Center for Urban Future; Norman Siegel, attorney and former director of the New York Civil Liberties Union; Councilman Jumaane Williams; and it will be lead by Nick Powell, opinion editor at City & State.

Fall Festival & Movie Night In Kaiser Park
When: Saturday, October 17, at 3pm
Where: Kaiser Park, Neptune Avenue and Bay View Avenue
What: The festival will include a costume contest, a hay maze, pumpkin painting, apple and pumpkin pies with cider, face painting, games, prizes, trivia, and more. It will be followed by a screening of The Addams Family at 6:45pm. Free popcorn will be served.

Autumn Thrift Sale At New Utrecht Reformed Church

Where: New Utrecht Reformed Church, 1827 84th Street
What: There are bargains to be had at this thrift sale including frames, housewares, clothing, linens, shoes, books, toys, handbags, jewelry, pictures, housewares, and Christmas items will be sold in the Parish House. Refreshments and a light lunch are available to purchase.

Luna Park’s Halloween Harvest
