Happy weekend, everyone! There’s a ton going on this weekend, from learning how to make your own terrarium (while drinking cocktails, of course) at Stems to Sustainable Flatbush offering a free workshop on depression and the sidewalk sales event on Church & Flatbush Avenues featuring food, bargains and music.

Thursday, August 21

• Sign up for open mic night at 773 Lounge starting at 8pm.
Out of System Transfer plays their punk-influenced Americana at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Friday, August 22

Sing along with Jon Samson at Lark, 11am.
• The sidewalk sales event on Church & Flatbush Avenues includes food, music and bargains, 12pm-6pm.
• Come to Prospect Park’s Audubon Center for a free cardio toning class, 12pm.
• Meet fellow moms and dads at the New Parent Meet-Up, Lark, 1pm.
• Celebrate summer with your kids at a free dance program for children (you must register beforehand) at the Cortelyou Library, 2:15-5:15pm.
• Kids can attend Blooming Naturalists  at the Prospect Park’s Audubon Center, 1-2pm Thursdays and Fridays.
• … followed by Nature on the Go, also at the Audubon Center, 2-3pm Thursdays and Fridays.
• … and finally, learn about local wildlife at Animal Encounter, also at the Audubon Center, 3-4pm Thursdays and Fridays.
Happy hour with babies and ice cream happy hour are at Lark, 4pm.

• Get your heart rate up and explore the neighborhood with Ditmas Rides, meeting in front of the Cortelyou Library at 7pm.
• Robin Williams will be remembered with a free screening of “Mrs. Doubtfire” at All Souls Bethlehem Church, 7pm.
• Shake your groove thang as your favorite disco hits are spun on the roller rink floor at Lola Star‘s “Saturday Night Fever” roller disco skate party at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park (buy tickets here), 8-10pm.
Grupo Descarrilao brings the August heat with their salsa at Bar Chord, 9pm.
Rahlou is at Sycamore, 10pm.

Saturday, August 23

• Sustainable Flatbush holds a free workshop on depression, 10am.
• The Lavender Blues sing along is at Lark, 10:30am.
• The sidewalk sales event on Church & Flatbush Avenues includes food, music and bargains, 12pm-6pm.
• There’s Sahaja yoga meditation at the Cortelyou Library, 12:30-2pm.
Sycamore holds its inaugural New England Style Clam Bake (buy tickets here), seatings at 3pm and 5pm.
Super Hi-Fi performs at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Sunday, August 24

• Stop by the information tent at the Cortelyou greenmarket (Cortelyou between Argyle and Rugby), for information about canning and pickling demonstrations. The first 15 customers to stop by to learn about preserving the harvest get a free canning-related gift. The market runs from 8am-3pm, but get there early if you want to be one of the first 15!
• Play and sing at Toddler Time with Mary Jo at Lark, 10am.
• The sidewalk sales event on Church & Flatbush Avenues includes food, music and bargains, 12pm-6pm.
Learn about Ditmas Park Creative Arts Therapy at a free open house, 1pm-3pm.
EzraGuitar is inviting the community to a free open house and kids dance party, 3pm-7pm.
Stems is hosting a “DIY Terrarium” workshop (with drinks!), 5:30pm
A Kensington-based indie record label hosts a night of experimental music at Windsor Terrace’s Prospect Range, 6:30pm.
