Sunset Yoga
When: Thursday, October 1, 7pm
Where: Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Stretch out the last few hours of the day and join us on Thursdays this fall for yoga movements guided by progressive house beats, trance, and ambient music. Breathe deep, listen, and watch as the sun sets over Prospect Park Lake with Abhaya Yoga. Registration begins at 6:30; please bring your own mat if you have one.

Jazz Jam Session
When: Thursday, October 1, 7pm
Where: Kettle & Thread, 1219 Church Avenue
What: Stop by Kettle & Thread for music every Thursday night.

John Pinamonti Band

Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco
When: Friday, October 2, 7:30pm
Where: LeFrak Center, Lakeside
What: Show your Goth side tonight and jam to The Cure and other great Goth bands. Note that admission is restricted to guests ages 21 and older. For more information, or to buy tickets in advance, visit the Dreamland website.

What: Check out the Afrobeat sounds of SuperYamba tonight!

Scharen Knippen
When: Saturday, October 3, 2pm-4pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: Celebrate fall at Lefferts with the old Dutch craft Scharen Knippen. Cut out autumn and halloween scenes and patterns some designed in the 19th century by Mrs. Lefferts herself. While you’re here join us for potato sack races and other fun historic toys and games.
How much: $3 suggested donation.

La Madrugada

What: Come out and dance to the latin rhythms of La Madrugada!

Parkside Plaza GreenMarket
When: Sunday, October 4, 8am-4pm
Where: Parkside and Ocean Avenues
What: This Sunday market will feature six producers selling fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese, milk, herbs, eggs, honey, meats, yarn, baked goods and more. Early Morning Birdwalk: Hawks

Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: October is Hawk Month! Look for them in a tour led by the Brooklyn Bird Club. This tour leaves promptly at 8 am.

E-waste Recycling
When: Sunday, October 4, 10am-4pm
Where: Flatbush Food Co-op, 1415 Cortelyou Road
What: Have some old electronics that you need to get rid of? Stop by the Flatbush Food Co-op this Sunday and they’ll help you dispose of them safely.

Annual Blessing of the Animals
When: Sunday, October 4, 1pm
Where: St. Paul’s Church, 157 St. Paul’s Place
What: The community event will include a 1pm blessing of the animals, live organ music on St. Paul’s Church’s 1956 Estey organ, and a tour of the church’s unusual stained glass windows.
