Warm Up With a Drink and Some Jazz: With a rainy, sleety mix predicted for tonight, those who brave the weather for this week’s Radio Zero series should reward themselves with a glass of bourbon while enjoying the sounds of Will McEvoy’ MUTASM and the JP Carletti Trio. The show starts at 8pm.

• Learn about a movement class at Lark for kids with special needs, 4pm.
Hear a story at the Cortelyou Library, for kids up to age 5, 4pm.
Help plan for the 2013 Youth Conference at a CB14 meeting, 7pm.

Tuesday, January 29

Laugh, Cry, and Eat the Cookie: The variety show tinyDANGEROUSfun is back at Sycamore at 8pm after taking December off. This month’s lineup features a comedian, a contortionist (Kelsey Strauch, pictured above), a goofy musical duo, and more. If you’ve never been before, we recommend you accept the offer of a free cookie.

Kids can play board games at the Cortelyou Library, 4pm.

Wednesday, January 30

See a Cheap Movie Before the Oscars: Silver Linings Playbook, one of nine films nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Oscars (which take place on February 24), is playing at the Kent Theater on Coney Island Avenue. Not up for a drama? They’ve got some other non-Oscar contenders playing as well. Tickets on Wednesdays are only $5.

Kids can groove with The Dad Beats at Lark, 11am.
Hear jazz by the Jonas Tauber Quartet at Sycamore, 9pm.
