Things To Do In Ditmas Park This Week
The week is off to a great start – and there’s much happening, from the Flatbush Farm Share’s potluck dinner to live music at Bar Chord and a meeting about the future of neighborhood schools.
Monday, July 14
• Attend the Rolie Polie Guacamole singalong at Lark, 4:15pm.
• Check out the weekly Shape Up NYC Couch to 5k Group Run, meeting at the Lefferts Historic House, 7pm.
• Aaron Irwin plays at Bar Chord, 8pm.
• Going to Hell Comedy is at Bar Chord, 9pm.
• Work in a neighborhood bar or restaurant? Come take advantage of drink specials at Industry Night, 773 Lounge, 9pm.
Tuesday, July 15
• Drop-in sing-along with Dan Loomis from the Dadbeats at Lark, 9am
• The Singing Winds presents free activities for all ages in Albemarle Playground Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 31, including papier mache, crafts, games, puppet-making, storytelling, crochet and needlework for adults and teens, and more, 10am-12pm.
• There’s a drop-in sing-along with Miss Katie at Lark, 11am.
• It’s time for Explore & Create at the Cortelyou Library, 2pm.
• A District 15 Community Education Council meeting will be held on the future of PS/IS 437, currently under construction, and PS 130. The meeting will be held at PS 130 (70 Ocean Parkway), 6:30pm. Childcare will be provided.
• Jackson Lynch plays at Bar Chord, 9pm.
Wednesday, July 16
• There’s a sing-along with neighbor Debbie Deane ($5) at Lark, 10am.
• Lend the Wednesday Corps a hand at Prospect Park (call 718-287-3400 for location), 10am.
• Teens can learn about PS3 gaming at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
• Flatbush Farm Share will hold a potluck dinner and kitchen sale at the Flatbush Reformed Church (corner of Flatbush and Church Avenues), 6:15-8pm. Bring a dish to sare, a picnic blanket, and a recipe to share. There will be some basics, but it’s encouraged to bring your own utensils. Please label your dish as vegan, gluten-free, etc. Questions? • There will be a child/infant CPR safety class (registration is required) at Lark, 7-8:30pm.
