Things to Do in Ditmas Park This Week
Fun things to do in the neighborhood for younger kids, older kids, and kids at heart. Be sure to check back on Thursday to see what’s happening in the area this weekend.
Monday, February 4
• Let Loose at Storytime: The Friends of Cortelyou Library have organized a parent-led storytime (pictured above) for kids age five and young that runs twice weekly (it’s at 4pm today), and creative storytelling is encouraged. If you want to lead an upcoming session, contact them at cortelyoulibraryfriends@gmail.com for more info.
• Hear close to 20 musicians play a piece at the Radio Zero series at Sycamore, 8pm.
Tuesday, February 5
• Consider the End of Times, in Verse: There’s an open mic portion to the monthly (well, monthly as often as it can be) Post-Apocalyptic Poetry Group, so bring your works about catastrophe to try them out with a crowd. Or, just sit back, sip a drink, and consider the doom that’s presented by others at Sycamore at 9pm.
• Join Mike the Ballooniac for a sing-along at Lark, 10am.
• Repair your bike or help others with theirs at the Flatbush Reformed Church, 6pm.
• Taste a Variety of Beers in One Sitting: Sycamore hosts Breckenridge Brewery for an evening of bodacious brew and good company. Stop by between 6-10pm to taste a flight of four 5oz pours of some of the Colorado craft brewery’s lesser known beers.
• A series of crafty classes for kids begins at Brooklyn ARTery, 3:30pm.
• Learn about community programs at the CB14 Human Services Committee, 7pm.
