Things To Do In Ditmas Park This Week
Today is off to a rainy start, but no matter–there are lots of cool events at the Cortelyou Library, Bar Chord, and other indoor spaces to keep you busy this week. Check out the good stuff below.
Monday, June 12
- Kids can take free tennis lessons courtesy of NYJTL, PS 249, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3-6pm.
- Kids five and under are invited to story time at the Cortelyou Library, 4pm.
- The Rolie Polie Guacamole sing-along with Phranque returns to Lark, 4:15pm.
- Join the I Love a Clean Church Avenue Task Force and brainstorm how to keep Church sparkling at the BID office (884 Church Ave. between Coney Island Ave. and E 8th St.), 6pm.
- Attend the Community Board 14 monthly meeting at Edward Murrow High School (1600 Ave. L between the subway tracks and E 15th St.), 7:30pm.
Tuesday, June 11
- Join Mike “The Ballooniac” Gold for his Silly Sing-Along, Lark, 10-11am.
- Visit Pre-School Storytime at Midwood Martial Arts, 10:15 and 11:15am.
- Kids can make arts and crafts at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
- Stop by Sustainable Flatbush‘s Healing Herb Garden for open hours, 2103 Kenmore Terrace by E 21st St., Tuesday-Friday from 4pm-6pm.
- Andrew Lowden plays Bar Chord, 10pm.
Wednesday, June 12
- Rock out with The Dad Beats, Lark, 11am.
- Lend the Wednesday Corps a hand at Prospect Park (call 718-287-3400 for this week’s location), 11am-2pm.
- Preschool story time is at the Cortelyou Library, 2:45pm.
- Consult a resume coach at the Cortelyou Library, 3:30-4:30pm.
- Teens can learn about Playstation gaming at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
- Rolie Polie Guacamole is back at Lark for a singalong with Andrew, 4pm.
- Get your art or antique piece appraised and help raise money for charity at Zelda’s Art World (2291 Nostrand Ave. between Avenues I and J), 5-7pm.
- Working on gaining U.S. citizenship, or just your English conversational skills? Drop into a free class with neighbor Benno Groeneveld at the Cortelyou Library, 5-6pm and 6-7:30pm.
