Things To Do In Ditmas Park This Memorial Day Weekend

While it’s not feeling very summer-like today, this weekend looks like it’s shaping up to be a nice — and busy — one! There’s lots happening in the  neighborhood this Memorial Day weekend, including a concert at PS 217 tonight, Lola Star’s roller disco on Friday, a free workshop at the Family of Light Holistic Center Saturday, the annual Memorial Day concert at Green-Wood Cemetery, and lots more. Thursday, May 21

PS 217’s free Spring Concert Series continues in the school’s garden, 6pm.
Queen Cobra Thai serves up their tasty eats at Sycamore’s Flatbush Food Court, 6pm.
• Watch Matt Fuller perform a guitar recital at Lark Cafe, 6-8pm.
• New aroma yoga class at Family of Light Holistic Center ($15), 7:30pm.
• Gregg Allman’s guitarist Scott Sharrard and his Brickyard Band perform at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Friday, May 22

• Join the drop-in sing-alongs with Lloyd H. Miller at Lark Café, 10 & 11am.
• Get in shape at Shape Up NYC’s free cardio toning class at Prospect Park’s Audubon Center, 12-1pm.
• Meet fellow moms and dads at the New Parent Meet-Up, Lark Cafe, 1pm.
Johnny Lupiani’s Awesome BBQ is dishing up food at Sycamore’s Flatbush Food Court, 4pm.
Happy hour with babies and ice cream happy hour are at Lark, 4pm.
• Free wine tasting at Kings County Wines, every Friday from 6-8pm.

• The Brooklyn ARTery celebrates the opening of its pop-up shop on Governors Island, 10am.
• Lavender Blues Sing-Along at Lark Cafe, 9:30 & 10:30am.
• Join ShapeUp NYC for a free cardio sculpt class at Prospect Park’s Audubon Center, 11am.
• Free “Reversing Aging with Natural Solutions” workshop at the Family of Light Holistic Center, 11:30am.
• The Brooklyn Bird Club leads an intro to birdwatching class at Prospect Park’s Audubon Center, 12-1pm.
Fleece Festival at Prospect Park’s Lefferts Historic House & Prospect Park Zoo, 2pm.

• Learn how wool was used on a Flatbush farm at the Lefferts Historic House, 2-4pm.
Gaddy Lane serves up their delicious eats at Sycamore’s Flatbush Food Court, 2-8pm.
Wig Doctor spins a mix of old Jamaican, funk and soul tunes every Sunday at Coffee Mob, 2-5pm.

Monday, May 25

Commemorate Memorial Day at Green-Wood Cemetery’s free Memorial Day event, including a ceremony marking the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War and a free concert (please register here), 11am.
• Plant the annual potato crop, race against friends and family in a potato sack race, and take a tour of the historic rooms at the Lefferts Historic House ($3 suggested donation), 2-4pm.
•  Our Neighborhood Comedy Night at Bar Chord, 9pm.
