Lots to do in southern Brooklyn this week. City Councilman Chaim Deutsch is giving away free smoke alarms, there is a poetry jam session in Coney Island, a mask making workshop and a free movie at the library. Two civic groups are holding monthly meetings this week.

What: Support your local library by purchasing a book. There is a large selection of books from all genres. Proceeds go to support the Sheepshead Bay Library.

Smoke Alarm Giveaway

Where: City Councilman Chaim Deutsch’s district office, 2401 Avenue U (Near East 24th Street)
What: City Councilman Chaim Deutsch is sponsoring a smoke detector giveaway as part of the city’s #GetAlarmedNYC initiative, the largest of it’s kind in the country.

Manhattan Beach Community Group Celebrates 75th Anniversary
