What: The 86th Street Festival is essentially giant flea market, but with live music, delicious food, and carnival rides.

61st Precinct Community Council Meeting

Where: YDE School, 2533 Coney Island Avenue (Near Gravesend Neck Road)
What: Meet with the precinct’s top officers and share concerns about crime and safety in the neighborhood.

Fundraiser to Save Warbasse Nursery School
When: Thursday, June 9, 7 – 10pm
Where: Wheeler’s Restaraunt, 1705 Sheepshead Bay Road, near Voorhies Avenue
What: Warbasse Nursery School plans to move to a new location, but they need your help to raise money for the move. There will be a raffle for a new laptop and drinks are $1 off.
How much: $10 suggested donation.

It’s My Park at Marine Park
When: Saturday, June 11, 10am – 2pm
Where: Marine Parks’ Carmine Carro Community Center, at Fillmore Avenue and Madison Place
What: Volunteer with the Marine Park Alliance to paint the benches, fences, and playground equipment at Playground 278 in Marine Park.

Pet Day at Deno’s Wonder Wheel
When: Saturday, June 11, 12 – 7pm
Where: Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park, 1025 Boardwalk
What: Deno’s Wonder Wheel is hosting their 6th Annual Pet Costume Contest on the boardwalk. You must pre-register to participate in the contest by Tuesday, June 7. If there are still spots available, last-minute regitration will take place on the boardwalk from 11 – 11:30am. Pets also ride the Wonder Wheel for free during the event.
