Thursday, December 11
• An artist/scholar dialogue and forum will address Afrofuturism in social and artistic thought, especially its role in the sphere of dance, performance, and the body and its relevance to the current state of street art and technology. Woody Tanger Auditorium at Brooklyn College, 6:30pm.
• Dr. Zsa’s Powdered Zydeco Band performs at Bar Chord, 9pm.
Friday, December 12
• Join the drop-in sing-alongs with Lloyd H. Miller at Lark Café, 10 & 11am.
• Adults are invited to the computer class at the Cortelyou Library, 11am.
• Come to Prospect Park’s Audubon Center for a free cardio toning class, 12pm.
• Meet fellow moms and dads at the New Parent Meet-Up, Lark, 1pm.
• Kids can attend Blooming Naturalists at the Prospect Park’s Audubon Center, 1-2pm Thursdays and Fridays.
• … followed by Nature on the Go, also at the Audubon Center, 2-3pm Thursdays and Fridays.

• Looking for a fun & safe environment for your child while you do your shopping, go out to dinner, or catch up with friends? Latin Fever will provide your child with fun-filled activities, games, movies and more. $35 for 2.5 hours and snacks or $15 for one hour. 7:30-10pm.

Saturday, December 13
• Bring your dog and join FIDO for an off-leash “Bark! The Herald Angels Sing” holiday party at Prospect Park’s Long Meadow, beside the Picnic House, 8-10am.
• Lavender Blues Sing-Along at Lark Cafe, 10 & 11am.
• Compost for Brooklyn will hold its Trim-a-Tree winter event at the corner of E. 8th Street & Newkirk, where neighbors will learn how to decorate trees with treats to help feed the hungry birds, such as garlands of popcorn and cranberries, 11am-2pm.
• Try some scrumptious food and drinks at Sycamore’s Flatbush Food Court, 2-8pm every Saturday and Sunday.
• Ditmas Park guitar student performances at Lark Café, 6-8pm.
• Sweet Honey In The Rock: Celebrating the Holydays at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts ($30, discounts available), 8pm.
• The Condescending Liberals perform their soul, funk and more at Bar Chord, 9pm.
Sunday, December 14
• Check out all the fresh veggies, fruit, and more at the Cortelyou greenmarket (Cortelyou between Argyle and Rugby), 8am-3pm.
• Kids yoga with Jen at Lark Café, 10am.
• Go to a winter clothes swap at PS 139, where there will be coats, winter accessories, shoes, textiles, and more. Drop off items through Friday at 3pm at the school’s security desk. The swap will be 9am-3pm
• Join Pilates on Cortelyou for an open house with German Christmas goodies and holiday gifts from local artists (including jewelry, prints/calligraphy, wallets, paintings & prints, pottery, tots clothes, scarves, and more). Special pilates packages will also be available. 12:30pm-5pm.
• Watch The Colonial Nutcracker at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts ($15), 2pm (pre-show holiday card decorating workshop at 1pm).
• Join the East Midwood Jewish Center (1625 Ocean Avenue) for a family Chanukah party and celebration of EMJC’s 90th birthday. There will be all kinds of entertainment, including Wendy the Pipe Cleaner Lady, facepainting by the Amazing Sharon, balloon art, holiday arts and crafts, and a playful, interactive concert by Oran Etkin’s Timbalooloo. $5 per person, $20 per family. 1-3pm.
