Things To Do In Ditmas Park This Week

This week, there’s a whole lot of fun and free stuff you can do with your kids during their time off from school, as well as a ton of other things, including getting your laugh on at Bar Chord’s comedy night, diving into some trivia at The Lodge at Sycamore, learning how Brooklynites lived in the 19th century during a tour of the Lefferts Historic House, and lots more:

Monday, February 16

• Check out the weekly Shape Up NYC Couch to 5k Group Run, meeting at the Lefferts Historic House, 7pm.
• Go old school at Sycamore’s VHS Mondays, 8pm.
• Get your laugh on at Going to Hell Comedy at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Tuesday, February 17

• Join the drop-in sing-along with Miss Katie at Lark Cafe, 11am.
Go on a tour of the Lefferts Historic House and view significant artifacts from 19th century family life in Brooklyn, $3 suggested donation, 1-3:30pm (tours are every half hour).
Come to Lefferts Historic House to learn how to play Nine-Man Morris and make your very own playing board to take home, $3 suggested donation, 1-4pm.
• Teens are invited to create, explore, socialize and more at the DIY: Teen Time at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
Join the Brooklyn Front Runners (a multi-sport club for LGBT and LGBT-friendly athletes) for a run at Prospect Park every Tuesday evening, 7pm.
• Try your hand at some moderately difficult trivia at The Lodge at Sycamore, 8pm.
• Win a $60 bar tab during Highbury Pub’s trivia night, 9pm.
Marya Lawrence-Hart and The Pursuit of Happiness play their tunes that draw from jazz, blues, hip-hop, reggae, funk, soul, and world music at Bar Chord, 9pm.
The Icebergs perform their post-punk songs that are bluesy and ironic at Bar Chord, 10pm.

Wednesday, February 18

• A gentle yoga class each Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity (1099 Ocean Avenue, by Farragut) will include stretching, strengthening, and breathing deeply, and the instructor noted it’s good for those with arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, or just regular aches and pains. $10 suggested donation, 10:30am.
• Join the sing-along with Debbie Deane at Lark Café, 11am.

• Meet Prospect Park Alliance’s new president, Sue Donoghue, and learn about her vision for the park, at the Picnic House, 7-9pm.
Sycamore’s The Lodge presents its Classic Match Wednesday, when it will air sports games on its big screen TV and serve up food from Johnny Lupiani’s, 8pm.
•Free Standards featuring Sean Nowell and Danny Sher at Bar Chord, 9pm.
• Two-for-one whiskey night at the Highbury Pub, 9pm.
