Things To Do In Ditmas Park This Week

So much is happening this week! Tonight alone you can attend CB 14’s monthly meeting, go see a jazz performance at Lark, kick back old-school style at Sycamore’s VHS Mondays, or get your laugh on at Going to Hell Comedy’s one-year anniversary laugh extravaganza at Bar Chord. And then, for the rest of the week, there’s all kinds of free stuff happening at the Cortelyou Library, a beer club at Sycamore, and lots more:

Monday, January 12

• Check out the weekly Shape Up NYC Couch to 5k Group Run, meeting at the Lefferts Historic House, 7pm.
Community Board 14 holds its monthly meeting at Edward R. Murrow High School, 7:30pm
• The Dan Loomis Quartet will be performing a night of jazz at Lark Café ($10), 8-10pm.
• Go old school and watch a classic movie during Sycamore’s VHS Mondays, 8pm.
• Laugh your face off at Going to Hell Comedy’s one-year anniversary night of hilarity at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Tuesday, January 13

• Join the drop-in sing-along with Miss Katie at Lark Cafe, 11am.
• It’s Babies and Books time at the Cortelyou Library, 11:15am-12pm.
• Teens are invited to create, socialize, explore, and more at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
• Learn about PS 770, the New American Academy, at a free Q&A at Lark Café, 5:30-7:30pm.
• Meet brewers and taste four special beers at Sycamore’s beer club, 6-8pm.
Join the Brooklyn Front Runners (a multi-sport club for LGBT and LGBT-friendly athletes) for a run at Prospect Park every Tuesday evening, 7pm.
• Win a $60 bar tab during Highbury Pub’s trivia night, 9pm.
•Rob Hecht, Ross Martin & special guests perform during the Tuesday night residency at Bar Chord, 9:30pm.

Wednesday, January 14

• A gentle yoga class each Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity (1099 Ocean Avenue, by Farragut) will include stretching, strengthening, and breathing deeply, and the instructor noted it’s good for those with arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, or just regular aches and pains. $10 suggested donation, 10:30am.
• Join the sing-along with Debbie Deane at Lark Café, 11am.
• Stay true to that New Year’s resolution to get fit and attend the Falundafa exercise class at Cortelyou Library, 1:30-2:30pm.
• Children in first through eighth grades can get help on their homework at the Cortelyou Library, 3-4:30pm.
Sycamore’s The Lodge presents its Classic Match Wednesday, when it will air sports games on its big screen TV and serve up food from Johnny Lupiani’s, 8pm.
• Jeff Taylor and special guests perform at Bar Chord, 9pm.
• Two-for-one whiskey night at the Highbury Pub, 9pm.
