Happy final days of 2014, everyone! To celebrate our last moments of the year, you can spend a cozy night watching a movie at Sycamore, learn how to embroider at the Cortelyou Library (if you’re a teenager), ring in 2015 at neighborhood restaurants and bars, and more:

Monday, December 29

• Check out the weekly Shape Up NYC Couch to 5k Group Run, meeting at the Lefferts Historic House, 7pm.
• VHS Mondays at Sycamore’s The Lodge, 8pm.
Our Neighborhood comedy night is at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Tuesday, December 30

• Join the drop-in sing-along with Miss Katie at Lark Cafe, 11am.
Teens are invited to learn how to embroider at the Cortelyou Library, 3:30-4:30pm.
• Come sing and dance with Amy Miles at Lark Cafe, 4pm.
• Kids ages 6-12 are invited for arts and crafts at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
Join the Brooklyn Front Runners (a multi-sport club for LGBT and LGBT-friendly athletes) for a run at Prospect Park every Tuesday evening, 7pm.
• Win a $60 bar tab during Highbury Pub’s trivia night, 9pm.
No Small $ Brass Band performs at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Wednesday, December 31

• A gentle yoga class each Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity (1099 Ocean Avenue, by Farragut) will include stretching, strengthening, and breathing deeply, and the instructor noted it’s good for those with arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, or just regular aches and pains. $10 suggested donation, 10:30am.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve at local restaurants and bars, throughout the evening.
• Alegba and Friends perform at Bar Chord’s New Year’s Eve party, which includes a free champagne toast at midnight, noisemakers, party hats and and more, 9pm.
• Ring in 2015 with live music and DJs at Sycamore, 9pm-all night.
• Drink free hot chocolate, listen to music and watch the fireworks at Prospect Park’s New Year’s Eve party, 11pm-12am.

Thursday, January 1

The Dad Beats perform at Lark Café, 11am.
• Join Prospect Park Alliance educators to make your own nature journal and learn how to use binoculars and field guides for the Blooming Naturalist program at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, 1-2pm.
• … followed by Nature on the Go, when children and families join the Alliance to discover the flora and fauna in Prospect Park, also at the Audubon Center, 2-3pm.
• … followed by Animal Encounter, when you can learn about what it takes to care for the creatures living in Prospect Park, at the Audubon Center.
