Thieves Steal Fur Coats Worth $15K From Macy’s Backstage, Cops Say
Police are searching for a group of thieves who allegedly made off with $15,000 worth of fur coats last month from the new Macy’s Backstage on Emmons Avenue.
Cops say that a woman and two men entered the store, which opened at the Loehmann’s Seaport Plaza in September, just after 8pm on January 15. The group posed as honest shoppers and clipped the security wires off five fur coats, which secures them to the rack, and snuck the merchandise into a bag, authorities say.
The discount retailer values the coats at $15,000, according to police.
Police provided surveillance photos of suspects.
