Thieves Shove Man Into Car Trunk Before Stealing $6K And His Mercedes
GOWANUS – Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the four men seen in the video below in connection with a recent robbery.
At approximately 2:20am on Saturday, August 24, the 25-year-old male victim left the Fire Lounge at 593 3rd Avenue before encountering the four suspects at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 16th Street, according to a police representative. The four men reportedly struck the man in the head and face multiple times with a firearm and shoved him into the trunk of a grey sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion, according to the rep.
The victim was able to free himself from the trunk and found that the attackers had stolen his 2016 Mercedes Benz as well as $6,000 in cash, his cell phone and watch, according to the police. The suspects fled north on 3rd Avenue. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
