Cops are searching for a pickpocket who swiped a woman’s purse earlier this year and used her stolen credit card to buy cigarettes at a corner store on Sheepshead Bay Road.

The thief allegedly grabbed a 31-year-old woman’s purse on January 11 while she was at Masal Cafe on Emmons Avenue. He later used the woman’s credit cards to buy two packs of cigarettes at a corner grocery underneath the Sheepshead Bay subway station.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, between 30 and 40 years old, five feet, seven inches to five feet, nine inches tall, and 160 to 190 pounds. The NYPD released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
