Thief Goes Grinch! Slips Through Roof Vent To Pilfer Goodies From Gravesend Restaurant

Cops say a slippery thief squeezed through a roof vent at a Gravesend restaurant Saturday morning to pilfer a trove of valuables, including a legally-owned handgun, before dashing off to his hideout.

The bandit, seemingly styled on Dr. Seuss’ furry, green harumph, dropped into the Draft Barn, a Gravesend tavern located at the corner of Avenue X and West 1st Street, just before 5am, according to authorities. Police say after the suspect entered the business, he broke into a safe in the basement and stole two Rolex watches, an Apple iPad mini, a legally-owned Walther P38 9MM handgun and an undetermined amount of cash.

No word on whether the suspect has termites in his smile. Surveillance video released by the NYPD shows the thief using his hoodie to cover his face as he wanders the empty restaurant.
