Time to dust off those ruby slippers!

The national weather service has issued a tornado watch for New York City until 10pm tonight. Neighbors are advised to be on the lookout for threatening weather and exercise caution when walking, driving or biking.

Brooklyn has found itself in the crosshairs of a tornado before. In 2012, A twister appeared in the water near Gerritsen Beach and then made its way up towards Flatbush. The strong winds downed power lines, damaged homes and toppled trees.

So stay safe neighbors. And of you find yourself in the company of any cowardly lions, brainless scarecrows or heartless tinmen, remember to follow the yellow brick road!
