Many thanks to Jill Reiner for letting us know about this fantastic sounding event from the Singing Winds that will be happening this Saturday, January 24, in PS 230’s multimedia room (located at 425 McDonald Avenue).

The event, titled “The Girl in the Egg: Stories, Poetry, Music and Dance from Yemen,” will begin at 2pm, and it is free and open to the public.

The Singing Winds is a storytelling series featuring traditional folklore from the many cultures and the many languages spoken by the people who live in Kensington. Hosted by PS 230, the Singing Winds storytelling series features both professional artists and community groups in live performances that bring to life the characters that have entertained and educated children for centuries.
