The National's Aaron Dessner Has Put His Stratford Road Home On The Market
The National’s Aaron Dessner has put his two-family home at 236 Stratford Road on the market for $2.35 million, according to Brownstoner. The house originally cost Dessner $735,000 when it he bought in 11 years ago, in 2004.
Dessner renovated the home extensively, doing most of the work himself. He suffered a collapsed lung in the process, according to a story in the Post from 2011.
The house, which was built in 1899, is divided into a two-family, with an apartment upstairs (The National lead singer Matt Berninger rented it at one time), but could easily be turned into a one-family home.
The garage is currently set up as a recording studio, where The National recorded several albums, as well as Sharon Van Etten and, most recently, Mumford & Sons. We assume that Dessner will take the recording equipment with him though.
