The most popular breed of dog in Park Slope, along with other NYC neighborhoods, was announced by the American Kennel Club recently, and it makes us wonder: Where are all these French Bulldogs they say are so prevalent?

Gothamist shared the list, which has the French Bulldog not only as the most popular breed in Park Slope, but in New York City overall. The AKC’s description of the breed notes their adorably smooshy faces and bat ears, and says that they’re “a great companion for single pet-owners as well as families with young children,” so that could perhaps explain a bit about their popularity here in the family-friendly Slope.

But where are all these cute pups? Do you guys see them around a lot? Have you got one? Send your pics to us at editor@bklyner.com and we’ll post them here!

And, as Gothamist notes, buying your own Frenchie from a breeder can be not just expensive but a bit silly when there are so many happy and healthy pups are waiting for homes in city shelters. If you’re looking to add a furry pal to your life, consider adopting — there’s an adoption event from Sean Casey Animal Shelter up on Prospect Park West this Saturday!
